Certificate of Incorporation Apostille for Germany & UAE Rejected — 2026 Fix (IDEALLINGUA)

Your Certificate of Incorporation Was Rejected in Germany & the UAE

Because it lacked a Hague apostille — and the German / Arabic text was not certified-translated for the free zone, DED, or bank KYC.

Your company is expanding to Frankfurt or Dubai, and the free zone / DED / bank came back with one requirement.

"Your Certificate of Incorporation needs a Hague apostille and a certified translation before we can register the entity / open the corporate account."

What a CoI apostille is — and why Germany & UAE demand it

A Certificate of Incorporation (CoI) proves your company's legal existence. When an Indian company sets up in Germany or the UAE, the host authority — and the corporate bank — requires the CoI to be authenticated with a Hague apostille and certified-translated into the local language.

Both Germany and the UAE are Hague Apostille Convention members (the UAE joined in November 2023), so a MEA apostille from India replaces embassy legalization. But the document is still in English / German / Arabic — and UAE Mainland (DED), courts, notaries, and visa processing require a Ministry of Justice (MOJ) certified Arabic translation.

Real rejection · 2026

An Indian SaaS firm registering a DMCC (Dubai) free-zone entity submitted its CoI with an MEA apostille but in English only. The free zone onboarding team bounced it — UAE MOJ requires a certified Arabic translation of incorporation documents routed to mainland/court/notary. The entity licence was delayed 10 working days until the certified Arabic translation was filed.

What Germany & UAE require — what has changed

  • Hague apostille (MEA, India) — since the UAE joined the Convention in 2023, an Indian MEA apostille is accepted; embassy legalization is rarely needed.
  • UAE MOJ certified Arabic translation — foreign corporate docs (CoI, MOA, resolutions, POA) routed to DED, courts, notary, or visa processing must be translated into Arabic by an MOJ-certified translator.
  • German requirement — for a German GmbH/branch, Arabic is not needed, but a certified German or English translation of the CoI is expected by notaries and banks.
  • Freshness — German Handelsregisterauszug must be no older than 3 months for most UAE authorities; order a fresh extract before filing.

Apostille alone does not solve language. You need the CoI apostilled and certified-translated into Arabic (UAE) or German/English (Germany) before the entity or bank account clears.

Common questions

Does the UAE still need embassy legalization?

Since the UAE joined the Hague Convention in 2023, a Hague apostille is usually enough; embassy legalization is rarely required, though some banks still ask.

Is an apostille enough, or do I also need translation?

You need both. UAE MOJ requires a certified Arabic translation of the CoI for DED/court/notary/visa use; Germany expects certified German/English.

Who issues the apostille for an Indian CoI?

India's Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) issues the Hague apostille on the Certificate of Incorporation.

How fresh must the document be?

For UAE, a German Handelsregisterauszug must be no older than 3 months. Order a fresh extract before filing the apostille.

Do you provide the Arabic translation for UAE?

Yes. We deliver MOJ-certified Arabic translation of the CoI and supporting corporate documents, with translator declaration.

How long does apostille + translation take?

Standard: 2–4 business days for translation; MEA apostille timelines vary. Express 24h translation is available for +$9.99.

Is this needed for a corporate bank account?

Yes. UAE and German banks run KYC on the parent entity and require the apostilled, certified-translated CoI before opening the account.

How much does CoI apostille + translation cost?

Translation from $6.99/page. MOJ Arabic / German certified +$4.99. Express 24h +$9.99. Apostille facilitated via MEA partners.
