The 4 Strict Italian Embassy Translation Rules
- Translate AFTER the Apostille: The translation must be completed in Italian. Nulla Osta: Work Visas & Civil Records

Do I need to translate the MEA Apostille sticker into Italian?
Yes. This is the most common reason for DOV rejection. You must complete the MEA Apostille first, and then the Certified Italian Translation must include a full translation of the Apostille sticker and all HRD stamps on the back of the document.
Can I use an SDM stamp instead of HRD for my Italy DOV?
No. The Italian Embassy explicitly rejects SDM (Sub-Divisional Magistrate) attestation for academic documents submitted for a Declaration of Value. You must obtain State HRD authentication before the MEA Apostille.
What if my name on my passport does not match my degree?
